Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) Manufacturing & Co-Processing

High-energy alternative fuel engineered from high-calorific municipal and industrial non-recyclable fractions. Sized, de-chlorinated, and moisture-controlled to replace coal in cement kilns and thermal power boilers.

RDF Manufacturing Process

Engineering High-Calorific Alternative Fuels

As heavy industry faces unprecedented pressure to lower Scope 1 carbon emissions and reduce reliance on imported petcoke and coal, Vortex EcoTech's Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) offers a commercially proven, high-energy substitute.

Produced at our automated 650 TPD facility, our process isolates high-calorific fractions (combustible plastics, paperboards, synthetic fibers, textile trimmings) through multi-stage ballistic air separation, optical NIR scanners, and magnetic cross-belt extractors. The material is then thermally dried and densified into rigid cylindrical pellets or high-surface-area fluff.

Core Industrial Value Propositions

Thermal Substitution (TSR)

Enables cement plants to replace up to 45% of fossil fuel requirements without modifying clinker mineralogy.

Kiln Protection (Chlorine < 0.8%)

Automated optical detection removes chlorinated PVC plastics, preventing cyclone scaling and refractory corrosion.

High Energy Density (GCV)

Consistent GCV ranging from 4,200 to 5,200 kcal/kg, matching the thermal profile of grade-B thermal coal.

Zero Secondary Waste

Combustion ash is fully incorporated into the cement clinker structure as silica and alumina, yielding 0% landfill disposal.

Kiln Feeding & Integration

Our logistics dispatch fleet supports pneumatic tanker discharging, live-bottom walking floor trailers, or 1-ton jumbo bulk bags. Fuel is dosed directly to:

  • Pre-Calciner Burner: Where fluff or small pellets achieve instantaneous suspension burn in high oxygen (850°C - 950°C).
  • Kiln Inlet Feed Shelf: Dosed continuously to sustain calcination without upsetting draft pressure.
  • Main Burner: Micro-milled RDF co-fired along with coal to lower primary fuel consumption.
